This is an invitation to all who have not yet been to Vienna.

It is the world’s musical capital, and Imperial city (and which empress can beat Sisi for charm), and it is unrivalled for its art treasures, its culture and its culinary delights. It is also one of the world’s top conference destinations.
There is charm in the air in Vienna. It is this charm that makes Vienna so unique.

Capital of music and art

Vienna, Capital of music and artIn the realm of music, especially, Vienna enjoys unique prestige throughout the world: No other city in the world has been home to so many famous composers. And hardly any other city offers such an extensive and varied range of music as Vienna. Add to this the memorials for Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Johann Strauss and Arnold Schoenberg. In 2006, Vienna was celebrating the 250th anniversary of Mozart´s birth. Vienna is traditionally a city where one finds a remarkably large number of art treasures (the centuries-old heritage of the House of Habsburg, with its passion for collecting art), world-famous works of art (e.g. “The Kiss” by Gustav Klimt), outstanding architecture (incl. the Ringstrasse style and art nouveau), prominent exhibitions, the MuseumsQuartier (one of the biggest art complexes in Europe) and modern art.

Vienna State Opera, the Volksoper, the Kammeroper, the Burgtheater, Theater an der Wien, Raimundtheater, Ronacher, the Musikverein and the Konzerthaus, Vienna Boy’s Choir, Austrian Gallery Upper Belvedere, Albertina im Akademiehof, Museum of Fine Art, Secession, Essl Collection, Sigmund Freud Museum, etc…

The imperial city
 Vienna, The imperial city

With the imperial Hofburg Palace and magnificent Schönbrunn and Belvedere Palaces, the Imperial Spanish Riding School and the Treasure Chamber, the glorious buildings along Ringstrasse – the “showcase of the monarchy” – and the imperial art collections, Vienna offers unique imperial splendour. No other city in Europe has been an imperial residence for centuries, and still has so much of that heritage to show today.

Imperial Apartments, Court Silver Depot and Tableware, Imperial Furniture Collection, Imperial Burial Vault, etc.…

City for recreation and sports (wellness)

The city on the Danube also has much to offer to those who wish to relax now and then in the midst of nature: the Hauptallee avenue runs through the green Prater (Giant Ferris Wheel) park for 5 km. The Donauinsel island is 20 km long, the New Danube has 40 km of beach to offer, including the famous Copa Cagrana, where one can find enjoyment beside or in the water, in front of the high-rise silhouette of the Danube City. The wine taverns on the outskirts, the Vienna Forest, the Donauauen National Park, the Summer Stage on the Danube Canal ... And there is also sport – from the Vienna city marathon to sailing, and from inline skating to surfing or sight-seeing tours by bicycle.

City for connoisseurs

Vienna, City of connoisseursThe traditional and the modern side by side: in Vienna, one sees a coach and horses here, skateboarders there, and the traditional coffee houses and wine taverns, with their centuries-old traditions, together with the trendy Vienna scene with pubs, fashion, music and events. From the Flea Market to the magic of Advent in Vienna, from open-air stalls at the Naschmarkt to gourmet restaurants, and from purveyors to the imperial court to international flagship stores, Vienna is an eldorado for connoisseurs – incidentally, it is also one of the safest cities in the world.

The Magic of Advent sees City Hall Square transformed into a magical Advent theme world with over 140 glittering booths and a delightful Christmas workshop for kids.
A lively atmosphere is guaranteed in Vienna on December 31 when the city plays host to one of the largest open-air New Year parties in Europe. The city center is transformed into a giant dance floor beneath the stars. At midnight, thousands of revelers dance in the New Year to the strains of Strauss’ Blue Danube Waltz. Highlights of the Vienna ball season are the Ball of the Wiener Philharmoniker at the Musikverein and the Opera Ball at the State Opera house.

Central Europe’s foremost convention venue

Congresses, meetings, conferences, seminars and incentives are staged in Vienna with a high degree of professionalism. Vienna enjoys an outstanding reputation as a conference city, which is confirmed by international statistics year after year.
